The biggest news here in Lake Worth this week is this:

Making it very clear that we (I'm dragging Brent along for the ride whether he wants to or not) are undoubtedly supporting Australia in the Olympics :)
I'm sure our neighbours are VERY confused, but hey, the guy down the street flies an original 13 state US flag...a little behind the times I say!
So the big work is winding down here at the house, and a lot of cosmetic stuff/finding places for everything is occurring .
Brent worked really hard on the bathroom this week. To be fair it was driving him nuts due to lack of storage (one small medicine cabinet - that's all it had), and he felt a need to fix is ASAP. He replaced the old light fixture for this sleek new one:

Then Brent picked up an old nightstand at World Thrift for $7.oo and refit it into a lovely new storage solution for under our wall sink :) I will lay claim to the delightful white paint job, but the brains of the op was definitely Brent!

We also picked up a new faucet/tap set on sale at Home Depot, I think it really matches the style of the bathroom.

Then, last of the bathroom projects for a few years (when we will probably redo it entirely) was putting in a second cabinet, so Brent and I don't have to share one tiny one.
My big accomplishment this week was to reupholster the great club chairs we picked up off the side of the street. I have never upholstered before, but I figured it couldn't be that hard...well once my trusty new nail gun/air stapler got hooked up to the compressor and going it WASN'T! Hey Dad, aren't you excited your little girl is learning how to use power tools?!

They really came out nicely if I don't say so myself! With all the materials, the two chairs probably cost around $20 each to redo...I can only imagine how much something like that could cost us retail :)
The last room to be painted got done this weekend too, the tiny second bathroom lost it's turquoise walls for a lovely shade of pale green, the same as the kitchen which also got finished up. Both are now looking gorgeous!

Our new hall light that Brent replaced - very cute.

After unpacking the entire den (it was overflowing with unpacked boxes!) we uncovered the
Mezuzah that Ron & Robbie gave us when we bought the house.
It looks lovely :)

Brent started framing in the old a/c unit, so that we can hang something over the ugly thing :)
And here's what will run it! We bought a generator, as Brent's worry bump was stressing about impending hurricanes this week. Fine with me! It is a 5500w generator and will be able to run at least the fridge, a couple of lights and the a/c unit. Sounds incredibly helpful, seeing last time we went through a decent size storm, Brent & I went without power for 3 weeks. Never again.
